Rihanna's Vision

Rihanna’s trajectory is as unpredictable and daring as her personal style. Following the recent Billboard Music Awards where she slayed with a stellar performance of “Love on the Brain,” the Barbadian singer turns her attention back to her blazing fashion collaborations before the European leg of her “Anti” tour continues this June. Her Fenty X Puma activewear collection continues to smash sales records, sexy heels created with Manolo Blahnik continue to sell out, and just as summer 2016 kicks off the global superstar releases a pair of futuristic sunglasses with Christian Dior simply named “Rihanna.”

Arriving later this month, Rihanna has designed a pair of wrap around shades that boast ultramodern lines and “Star Trek” styling that will come in a series of six wild space age colors. Speaking with WWD, the singer explains: 

“The process was pretty seamless. I spent a day at Dior with their eyewear design team. I started by looking through all the archives to see what they’ve done in the past, then got acquainted with all the new materials. I literally sat there and drew and drew until I was happy with the design, and the team illustrated it for me right then and there. We picked materials and colors that same day, and after that it was a matter of weeks before I saw the first prototype.”

An ambassador for Christian Dior since 2015, and star of the brand’s Secret Garden IV campaign, this is the first creative project Rihanna has done with the house, and surely not the last. The frame will be available in silver, pink, blue, green, and red, with a 24k gold plated edition all available exclusively at Dior stores this June. Now that the singer has conquered Earth, it’s clear that Rihanna has her trendsetting sights set on the rest of the galaxy.
